Shall we just forget 2020?

Well, what a year 2020 has been!

Certainly this time last year nobody foresaw what the year would bring – lockdowns, furlough, empty cities and empty bars, bubbles, tiers and tears.  Some will want to just move on from 2020, hoping they can forget that it ever happened.  But despite the pain and anguish that many have experienced, there has also been some good.

The most striking thing has been the resilience shown by so many.  Businesses have adapted their working practices to embrace remote working.  Using Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp and other platforms, businesses have found that their staff can continue to deliver.  We have seen many businesses thrive, with increased demand, despite the challenges that the pandemic has brought.  We have seen businesses adapt and change their whole business approach to deliver a different service.

So – should this be the year that we forget?  Absolutely not, we should congratulate the businesses and individuals who have shown great resilience, despite the challenges that the year has brought.  As individual businesses we should reflect on how we adapted during 2020; and what we learnt about ourselves, our colleagues, our suppliers and our clients, as well as our processes, systems and IT.

In the meantime, “Season’s Greetings” to you and yours!  See you, either in person or virtually, in 2021.
