This month we welcome another new member to our team with Isobel Martin joining us as Marketing Apprentice.

Isobel studied at Wilmslow High School and is now undertaking an apprenticeship in marketing and business, studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration.

With a particular interest in events, Isobel is supporting the rest of the team in delivering the marketing requirements for our clients and is enjoying the challenge of learning about their different businesses.

Managing Director Catherine Mackenzie commented: “At Mackenzie Marketing we have a history of employing apprentices, with Isobel being the third to join us. Our previous apprentice Zachary still works for us following the completion of his apprenticeship and it’s a great way of nurturing talent and supporting young people into work. I’m delighted to welcome Isobel to the team.”

National Walking Month

Posted on: Friday 5 May, 2017 | Filed in: Blogs, General News, Marketing News

May is National Walking Month, a campaign to promote the benefits of walking and to get everyone walking, no matter what their level of fitness is. Walking is simple and free and one of the easiest ways to be more active, lose weight and become healthier.

We’ve been thinking about how we can get involved and increase our step counts. We’re all big fans of our FitBits (or equivalent – other smart watches are available!) and for the month of May we’ll be making an extra effort to track our steps and walk a bit further every day.

Why not set up a competition in your office or between friends and family to see who can walk the furthest during the month of May? Walk to work, walk the kids to school, walk the dog, get off the bus a stop earlier, park the car further away, go for a long country walk at the weekend – there are loads of ways we can all walk a little bit more every day.
Every step counts!

Safer Internet Day 2017 Mackenzie Marketing Blog

Tuesday 7th February is Safer Internet Day, where the UK Safer Internet Centre is asking young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers, and wider organisations, to join together in helping to create a better internet.

As a marketing company, we see the many benefits of the internet and the online world – helping our clients promote their businesses on the internet and through social media, increasing their visibility and ultimately bringing in more customers. It is almost impossible nowadays to run a business without some level of online exposure.

Children and young people are familiar and comfortable with this online world and we need to make sure that they remain safe and protected whilst enjoying the benefits it brings.

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, Safer Internet Day sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

There are four main things to be aware of:
• Children should be made aware of the dangers of sharing too much information on social media.
• It’s very easy for children to stumble on age-inappropriate or unreliable information – be aware of what your child is viewing.
• Children need to know that people they meet online may not be who they say they are. You should make sure you know how to report cyberbullying or inappropriate contact from another person.
• Be careful of children running up bills using large amounts of data or making in-app purchases.

The UK Safer Internet Centre – a partnership of three leading charities; Childnet, the South West Grid for Learning and the Internet Watch Foundation – provide resources for children, schools and families, and tools If you look after children or young people, please take a look and make sure you’re helping those young people stay safe on the internet.

Meanwhile, at Mackenzie Marketing we will continue to keep up to date with the newest developments in online and social media marketing for our clients.
