Catherine Mackenzie, Managing Director of the Wilmslow based marketing consultancy, Mackenzie Marketing recently participated in Wilmslow High School’s career day for year 7 students.
The day enabled the young students, aged 11-12, to ask local businesses what their jobs entailed, in order to educate pupils about real life jobs and inspire them to think about their futures.

Catherine Mackenzie thoroughly enjoyed the event and was proud to help the local High school inspire the next generation of business men and women.

Mackenzie Marketing supports Travelwise International at Wilmslow Football Academy Event

Although the actual World Cup proved to be a very disappointing venture for England, Mackenzie Marketing was delighted to spend four days at the Wilmslow Mini World Cup Event hosted by Wilmslow Football Academy, with our client Travelwise International.

This fabulous event was sponsored by Travelwise International, and involved 14 local primary schools battling it out on Lindow Primary School’s football pitch for the Mini World Cup trophy.

Mackenzie Marketing helped the Travelwise International team set up an inviting marquee in order to create a data capture opportunity. Mackenzie Marketing created the idea of free Pimms for adults, a prize draw and free squash for children to entice people to engage with the local independent travel agency, Travelwise International.

The promise of free Pimms obviously worked, as the event significantly boosted the company’s profile in the local area.

Ex United Footballer, Micheal Carrick was at the event giving out medals to the winning teams, below he is pictured with Christian Gleave, Chief Executive of Travelwise International.

Earlier this year Wilmslow High School asked Mackenzie Marketing to design and develop a new website for them. They were keen for the website to convey the “Wilmslow Way”, which is about three things that are important to the school: success, pride and behaviour. They also wanted the website to reflect their professionalism, dedication and openness.

The website was launched in July 2013 and provides all the information that you will need to know about Wilmslow High School, whether you are a current or prospective Wilmslow High School parent or student.

Mackenzie Marketing at the Wilmslow Scarecrow Festival

The Annual Wilmslow Scarecrow Festival is taking place at the moment and the Mackenzie Marketing team have done their bit by constructing “Mildred”.
She went from some old stuffed tights and pillowcases to this beautiful creature that you can see here. We have high hopes that she could possibly be the star of the Festival and bring the winner’s trophy home to Mackenzie Marketing.
The Scarecrow Festival is run by Rotary Club of Wilmslow Dean in conjunction with the Wilmslow Business Group and is now in its fourth year and growing bigger every year. The Festival culminates with the Scarecrow Parade around Wilmslow Town centre on 6th July with the winner of the Scarecrow Festival being announced at the Wilmslow Show on July 14th.

Social Media for professional service firms

Whilst some Manchester professional service firms are popping a toe in the social media water, others aren’t so sure.

The leisure industry in particular is using social media well. They are using facebook and tweeting to create a following of loyal customers. These customers then very often receive deals and promotions to encourage them to visit the restaurants or bars. But how does this translate for an accountancy practice or a law firm? The answer is – with difficulty! But that doesn’t mean that such firms shouldn’t look at social media. Our advice to our clients is to prioritise their marketing activities – and if everything else is going well, then start to look at social media!
